New Senate Strategy to Pass Cannabis Reform

Senate Democrats, who are pushing for marijuana legalization, aren’t sure if this will happen. Unfortunately, not all Democrats are on board. For canabis legalization to take place, they must prevent a filibuster by getting 60 votes and at least 10 votes from Republicans (more if some Democrats oppose the bill).

To work around this, a federal cannabis bill can be added as an amendment to the budget reform bill instead. The problem with this is that it can be crushed by Senate Republicans who oppose it as a change to the financial accounts.

New study suggests that CBD pain relief is placebo

As discussed many times on this website, CBD has essentially no effect on the body’s endocannabinoid system. It does not bind cannabis receptors and therefore has no physiological value.

Many people claim that CBD can help with pain, but a recent study at the Research Center for Chronic Pain and Fatigue at the University of Michigan showed that CBD-related pain relief is a placebo effect – which is all on your head.

The study was small, but it sheds light on the fact that CBD is most likely a psychological phenomenon rather than a real medicine.
